Hard 1988 Friday - A Moliere Weekend Rec.

SHAKEDOWN
(1988)
Directed by James "The Exterminator, The Soldier,  McBain" Glickenhaus
Starring Robo-Weller and Sam "Roadhouse" Elliott

This hard buddy shoot em up is one of my favorite hard flicks from the 80's. Elliott plays Richie, a NYPD veteran and Weller plays Roland, a sharp, clean cut lawyer about to give it all up to work on Wall Street. The shooting of an officer by a drug dealer plummets both of them into the darker side of NYC. Old pals, they join forces to uncover murder, corruption, and drugs. An entertaining two hours if I do say so.

Hard lines:

RICHIE
Know how to handle one of these? (handed him a pistol)

ROLAND
(cocking the pistol)
Fucking A bubba.

RICHIE
Just try not to shoot me in the ass.

Although the finale is a tad silly at times, remember, it's the 80's, anything is possible.

And Elliott has a great monologue about a lost love and her dog.

***Keep an eye out for the movie that is playing in the movie theatre where Richie sleeps. A Hard Glickenhaus-Wahl shout out.

I'm white and can't fight
